Ya girl got vaxi vaxxed last Friday! Well, her first shot anyway. It’s a start to getting back to a more normal life. But, what does “normal” mean anymore?

I’m not sure what normal means for me yet. I guess I’ll see what happens as people get vaccinated and we attempt herd immunity. However, I am looking to move to NYC in August/September, so that will be a part of it all. Gartner put out an infographic last Tuesday to gauge the people’s return-to-normal plans and expectations.

Some interesting findings:

  • Most expect life to return to normal in 6-12 months. But, that doesn’t necessarily correlate to vaccines.
  • As expected, most are willing to venture out to more non-essential activities such as shopping. (I miss pursuing through physical stores!) Though, people are still more hesitant with indoor entertainment and air travel. (Hello, road trip!)
  • Despite hesitancy to travel, people are most looking forward to that, along with socializing with other people.
  • They want stores and venues to follow and enforce rules – not just communicate the right safety information. (Walk the walk, friends.)
  • People still have the environment in mind post-pandemic and want less pollution and better uses of nature to continue.
