Well, 4/20 campaigns were underwhelming this year – but Michelob Ultra Pure Gold has something today, Earth Day. As all earthlings celebrate their planet (something they probably should do year-round, just sayin’), Michelob Ultra Pure Gold follows up their Super Bowl commercial with their own ‘ad blocker.’

Of course, it is an advertisement for Michelob Ultra Pure Gold, but they block other banner ads with photos of nature.

This continues an interesting strategy of bringing people back to nature to sell beer. The association between beer and the environment wavers slightly depending on the advertisement which can be problematic. But, this ad blocker campaign could be really successful – as long as people know about it. If they can successfully create enough attention around the ad blocker, this campaign will stand out from the rest of the average advertisements.
